Riverside St Johns Deadzone

I live in Riverside on the water, a stone's throw away from St. Vincent's. For whatever reason, when the st johns widens on this side of downtown, the north bank here is virtually a dead zone.

Is Surf Fishing generally better North or South of the St Johns?
